Dell Latitude laptops serve working professionals who must balance the cost of a new device with the benefits of that upgrade. It can be difficult to weigh the benefits without the right facts. To help users with their upgrade decisions, we tested Dell Latitude laptops in three different studies and found data we believe could prove useful to anyone looking to upgrade their PC.
In one gen-vs-previous-gen study, we compared a new Dell Latitude 9330 2-in-1 with a new 12th Gen Intel Core i5 processor to a similarly configured Latitude 9420 device with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor. The new 9330 was more compact, lighter, and offered multiple benchmark wins, making it a great upgrade choice for a remote or hybrid business professional.
Our second study compared two similarly configured Latitude 5000 series laptops and two similarly configured 7000 series laptops featuring 12th Generation Intel Core processors, each pair featuring one U-series and one P-series processor. To mark generational improvement, we also measured CrossMark performance of a Latitude 5420 with a previous-generation processor. All current-generation 5000 series and 7000 series laptops showed marked improvement over the 5420. Additionally, we found the Latitude 5000 and 7000 series laptops featuring P-series Intel processors offered performance advantages over the U-series processor-powered devices. Professionals who use more demanding applications may well appreciate the advantages of those faster processors.
A third study dove deeper into the performance of Dell Latitude 5000 series laptops featuring 12th Gen Intel Core U-, P-, and H-Series processors. We found that each configuration offered different advantages for different users in terms of price and performance. Overall, the Dell Latitude 5531 featuring an Intel Core i5-12600H showed the highest performance of the devices we tested in this study.
