One of the potential benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace is the concept of personalized optimization—when devices learn what we do and help us do it better. Dell Optimizer 3.1 AI-based software—available on select new Dell business PCs—provides a suite of personalized optimization tools that learn from and respond to user-specific characteristics such as app preferences, workflows, device ecosystems, environmental factors like ambient noise, and more. Optimizer works in the background, so there are no interruptions, and analysis takes place only on the local system.
We assessed the potential real-world impact of Dell Optimizer software by running a combination of industry-standard benchmarks and custom user-experience tests on a Dell Latitude 9430 laptop and Dell OptiPlex 7400 all-in-one (AIO) desktop. We tested both systems with and without the software to see how much of an impact it made. When we enabled Optimizer application optimization features, productivity workload performance improved by up to 28 percent and content creation workload performance improved by up to 31 percent. Also, for the Latitude 9430 laptop, the ExpressCharge feature reduced battery recharging times, the Intelligent Audio feature reduced background noise during a Zoom call, and the presence detection settings worked to protect user privacy without a hitch.
In our testing on these two systems, enabling the Dell Optimizer software had a positive impact. For companies in the market for state-of-the-art employee gear, new Dell business PCs equipped with Dell Optimizer technology could have a positive impact on both productivity and end-user experience.
