Whether your company's workflows tend to be all-out sprints, endurance marathons, or a combination of both, speed and efficiency are crucial, and the goal remains the same—to cross the finish line as quickly as possible. Many busy professionals rely on mobile workstations to navigate rapid workflow shifts between everyday productivity tasks, data- or graphics-heavy applications, and calendars stacked with teleconference meetings. On top of those demands, the integration of AI-based programs and features into everyday computing has PCs carrying heavier workloads than ever before. With so much of the productivity race riding on the capabilities of your mobile workstations, it’s important to invest in hardware that will help your team power through present and future performance demands.
We used industry-standard benchmarks and hands-on tests to compare the AI-focused, graphics-intensive, and general day-to-day performance of two new HP ZBook Mobile Workstation PCs—a 16-inch ZBook Power G11 A and a 14-inch ZBook Firefly G11 A—to their respective competitor systems from Dell and Lenovo. We also measured and compared the battery life and aspects of the user experience, such as noise levels, of each laptop. The 16-inch and 14-inch ZBook laptops featured AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 8945HS and Ryzen 7 PRO 8840HS processors, respectively. The 16-inch and 14-inch Dell and Lenovo systems featured Intel Core Ultra 9 185H and Core Ultra 7 165H processors, respectively.
We found that the AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 8945HS processor-powered ZBook Power G11 A and AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 8840HS processor-powered ZBook Firefly G11 A laptops received comparable or higher general productivity, content creation, and AI benchmark scores than the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 185U-based Dell Precision 3591 and Lenovo ThinkPad P16v Gen 2 laptops, and the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 165H-based Dell Precision 3490 and Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 laptops, respectively.
We also found that the ZBook Power delivered all-business-day battery life in common productivity and video-conferencing scenarios. In the same battery life tests, the ZBook Firefly provided significantly longer battery life than the competitor Dell and Lenovo systems.
Our findings suggest that HP ZBook Power and ZBook Firefly G11 A Mobile Workstation PCs can provide teams with strong performance in a variety of tasks, including AI and resource-intensive workloads, while also providing comfortable user experiences and the battery life they need to stay ahead.
